Key points:
Students can learn some basic words and expressions to tell how to go somewhere.
Students can improve the listening and speaking ability.
Difficult Points:
Students can be more interested in English learning and not afraid of speaking in public.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
Free talk: How do you come to school? Students can draw a map in their mind and tell the way to go to school.
(Justification: This experience is close to students, so the teacher can lead in this lesson very naturally.)
Step 2 Pre-listening
Play a game: treasure hunt. Show a map on the screen, and hide the treasure in some place. The teacher will give some instructions to find the treasure, and students need to follow the instructions, whoever finds the correct place where the treasure hidden will be the winner.
(Justification: Playing games is an interesting method which can arouse students' interest, and it can also lay a foundation for the following listening steps.)
Step 3 While-listening
1. Extensive listening
Listen to the instructions of Mr. Wu and tick the correct boxes of the way to find the treasure.
(Justification: Students can have a brief understanding of the listening material and can visualize some information.)
2. Intensive listening
① Listen to the tape for the second time and put the sentences in A2 in the correct order, and write the number 1-6 in the boxes.

② Show a map on the screen. Listen again and draw the route on the map and mark on the map where the treasure is.
(Justification: Students can get the detailed information through intensive listening. And they will learn some expression to instruct the way.)
Step 4 Post-listening
Role play: divide students into group of four. One acts as Mr. Wu to instruct where the treasure is, and the others compete to find the treasure. Mr. Wu can decide a new place to hide the treasure. And they will act as Mr.Wu in turns. At least 3 rounds.
(Justification: Through this activity, students can cooperate and compete with each other, and improve their speaking ability.)
Step 5 Summary and homework
Summary: Invite one student to summarize what we have learned today.
Homework: Ask students to draw a map to show the way from their home to school. And they need to make a conversation in pairs. Next class, we'll check it.
(Justification: Students can consolidate what they have learned in this class, and it can also help students improve the cooperative awareness.)
